Jan Kunz



Considered one the Grand Dames of the Watercolor world, Jan Kunz is best known for her stunning portraits and exquisite florals.
Jan was born in Portland, Oregon and received her education in Southern California where she worked as an art director for a large advertising firm.
Since 1980 Jan has taught watercolor workshops nationwide and has authored six books and three videos on the subject. Her books include: "Painting Watercolor Portraits That Glow", "Painting Watercolor Florals That Glow", "Watercolor Techniques", "Painting Beautiful Watercolors From Photographs", "Watercolor Basics", and "Color", all published by North Light Books. These books have found acceptance worldwide and have been translated into both Chinese and Japanese. Videos include "Painting a Portrait in Watercolor", "Roses and Crystal", and "Getting Started Right", by Creative Catalyst Productions.
Kunz's paintings may be seen at Signatures Gallery and in private collections, as well as in art-related publications including Southwest Art, The Artist's Magazine, Australian Artist's Magazine, and table top editions of Splash, The Best of Floral Painting, and The Artist's Touch.
